Let me introduce myself : I am TeddyGrill, I live not far from Grenoble, Isère, in France.
I have always loved the smoke taste of a well-grilled meat and cooking outside. Once upon a time, I discovered the Weber barbeques.
When I looked at this brand, I learnt they were organizing a French Championship of the « Best Griller » in the Southern region.
In June 2015, I took the decision to go to Camargue and have a look at it with my wife. There, I found out what the BBQ spirit really is : frank friendships and good relationshipsbetween competitors. Then there was no space for doubts : the following year would be the one for me to take part into the French Championship.
In 2016, I compete for the first time by cooking a beef en croute stuffed with trumpet mushrooms and a chili style bull.
Believe me or not, I had been conferred the title of France vice-champion in the beef category !
In April 2017, another competition has been created not far from where I live : the Warm-Up of Alpe d’Huez. Of course I took part in it and was awarded.
This year, I took three times my place on the podium :
– 2nd in the « beef » category with a Jack Daniels and Canadian spices marinated beef recipe
– 2nd in the « pork » category with a barbeque sauce, Guinness beer, maple syrup and apple juice marinated ribs recipewith candied apples
– 3rd in the « cheese » category with a Maroilles, bleu de Sassenage and mozzarella cheese hedgehog bread recipe
No need to say I was very proud. Moreover I got the 5th place in the « chicken » category !
Now you know me a little more. This summer, I will go to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in Camargue again and hope to beon the podium again ! But above all, I hope to see all my grilling buddies again and drink to all the grillers of the world’s health !
